During this half day walking tour, you will get panoramic views of the enchanting Arequipa city. We will pick you up from your hotel at 7:30 am. Then, we will visit the Carmen Alto district. Once there, we will visit the nearby viewpoint, from where we will be able to see the incredible nearby volcanoes of Arequipa. We will spot the Misti, Chachani, and Pichu Pichu volcanoes. Then, we will go to the Yanahuara district.
Yanahuara is famous for its numerous colonial buildings made of sillar. The sillar is a white volcanic rock. This curious building material has given Arequipa the nickname of “the white city of Peru”. Afterwards, we will explore the historical city center of Arequipa.
First, we will enter the Cathedral of Arequipa, located in the Plaza de Armas. This giant temple was built during the 17th century. Then, we will go to the famous Jesuit Convent. Next, we will enter the picturesque Santa Catalina monastery. These catholic monuments were built during the Peruvian colonial era.
After exploring the beautiful city of Arequipa, we will transfer you back to your hotel.
