The Uros Islands are located on Titicaca Lake, the highest navigable lake in the world. They are artificial islands made of totora reed, an aquatic plant that grows in the lake’s waters. These islands are inhabited by the Uros people, who have been living there for hundreds of years.
The inhabitants of the Uros are completely adapted to the lake’s environment. They survive by hunting aquatic birds and fishing. They are experts using the totora reed to expand their home islands. Also, they use the totora to build their traditional reed boats.

Once we arrive at the Uros Islands, our staff will give you a complete tour of the place. You will learn about the unique customs and traditions of the Uros people. Also, you will know how the Uros build their islands and boats using totora reeds. As an optional activity, you can board a totora boat to have a short trip around the island.
Finally, we will return to Puno city after exploring these unique islands. We will arrive at the Puno city center around 12:00 pm.
