Huacachina, a unique desert oasis located just a few hours south of Lima near the city of Ica, is one of the greatest sites to view this side of Peru. Spend a day here and you may gaze at gigantic sand dunes like the Sahara, ride a paddle boat out onto the lagoon, ride a dune buggy, or even go sandboarding.
This oasis grew as a result of an underground water channel that stimulated the growth of plants and trees in the middle of the Ica desert. Currently, there are attempts underway to conserve the oasis and the vegetation, which consists of palm trees, eucalyptus, and carob trees.
Huacachina, a natural oasis, has long been a popular tourist attraction for both Peruvians and foreigners. Since the 1960s, residences, hotels, and even a spa have been built around the lagoon. 5:30 am
We will pick you up from your hotel in Lima at 5:30 am. Then, we will drive to Paracas town, a cozy place located right next to the Pacific Ocean. Once there, you will have a 2 hours boat tour to the Ballestas Islands. These islands are a smaller version of the Galapagos Islands. During this tour, you will spot numerous sea lions, penguins, and sea birds.
Afterwards, you will have free time to explore Paracas town and have lunch at a local restaurant. The lunch is not included in the tour price. At 1:30 pm, we will board our vehicle to drive to the Huacachina lagoon.
Once we arrive at Huacachina, you will have free time to explore the place. At 4:00 pm, we will board a buggy to explore the nearby dunes. You will also be able to practice some sandboarding.
At 7:00 pm, we will board our vehicle to return to Lima city. You will be arriving there around 11:30 pm.
