Nazca Lines Flight – Flight Over Nazca Lines

0
Overview

The Nazca Lines are a series of geoglyphs carved into Peru’s Nazca Desert. Between 500 BCE and 500 CE, the lines were created by making depressions or small incisions in the desert floor, removing pebbles and exposing varied colored soil.

The Nazca lines were built during two periods: the Paracas phase (from 400 to 200 BCE) and the Nazca phase (from 200 BCE to 500 CE). Between 80 to 100 additional figures were discovered using drones in the years running up to 2020, and archaeologists believe there are more to be discovered.

The majority of the Nazca Lines were built over 2,000 years ago by the Nazca civilization, while others obviously predate the Nazca and are thought to be the work of the older Paracas civilization.

While the images dated to the Paracas are frequently humanlike and bear some resemblance to even earlier petroglyphs in the region, the subjects of the Nazca-made lines are generally plants and animals—such as a monkey, a killer whale, a bird resembling a condor, a hummingbird, a pelican, a spider, and various flowers, trees, and other plants—as well as geometric shapes such as triangles

This half day tour is perfect for appreciating the incredible Nazca lines. Due to its great extension, the Nazca lines can only be seen from a plane. During this 35 minute flight, you will spot the most famous Nazca lines. A visit to these famous geoglyphs is highly recommended during your vacation in Peru.
